Wrap up for IFJM 2015

This wraps it up for IFJM 2015! Thanks everyone for your positive feedback! I’m really touched that you dropped by to see my travel art journal. To my surprise there were visitors from all over the world!

Thanks Roz for creating IFJM! What a brilliant idea!

ifjm wrap up 015IFJM 2015 has been a wonderful experience for me! It has helped me to step outside of my comfort zone, because I usually paint with watercolor paints and draw with ink, graphite or watercolor pencils.

For IFJM 2015, I decided to stretch myself by limiting my media to only acrylic paints, markers and collage, all of which I was not too familiar with using!

For fun I decided not to use any paint brushes. I ended up using credit cards, plastic utensils, popsicle sticks, toothpicks, bottle caps and odds & ends to paint with!

My goal was to experiment with all types of collage such as paper, fabric, thread, floss, foil, plastic, etc. This is something I’ve never done before!

At the start of the art project I was petrified, because I had to learn new techniques and think about the creative process in a completely different way. Luckily after a week of trial and error, I found myself in a nice creative rhythm!

And now, at the end of this art project, I’m really inspired to try new things with my artwork! This has been a real eye opener for me. I discovered how much fun it is to paint with acrylics, draw with markers and create texture with collage!

I’m so inspired to continue to do new art projects! I thought it would be fun to do a special tribute to everyone who came along with me on my gluten-free travels. Your kindness and generosity really moved me!

Thanks so much for visiting! Till the next time!
